I spotted John Lanchester's excellent articles about the financial crisis when they were first published. He seemed to combine a novelist's sensibility with actually understanding quite a lot about finance. His book about the crisis, Whoops!, is just published. It will get added to my pile. Meanwhile, it's had a lot of publicity. I've spotted a feature in the Financial Times, and reviews in the Telegraph,  FT, Sunday Times and Guardian - no doubt there are others. The reviews are generally positive, so might other people's appetite for the book.
